This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities. Job Duties

  • You will serve as a Security Specialist performing policy and guidance duties in support of various security programs for the FLCSD command, including the over-the-horizon (OTH) locations.
  • You will serve as a staff specialist to the Security Director, administering the various disciplines of the FLCSD Security program.
  • You will perform duties for Information and Material Security, Personnel Security, Physical Security, including access control, Antiterrorism/Force Protection and Industrial Security.
  • You will monitor the Defense Information System for Security daily to verify eligibility and clearances of employees, visitors and commercial drivers handling classified shipments of material.
  • You will evaluate the security eligibility of individuals for entry and retention in sensitive positions.
  • You will ensure that access to classified information is limited to appropriately cleared personnel with a need-to-know.
  • You will assist the Security Director and Senior Security Specialists with planning and implementing the Command’s Physical Security Anti-Terrorism functions.
  • You will conduct Random Antiterrorism Measures, maintain the schedule and the key and lock program, and provide guidance and assistance to the sub key custodians.
  • You will make first level security clearance recommendations for employees for access to classified and sensitive information, resources, material, or work sites.

Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public using knowledge of Personnel, Industrial, Information, Material, and Physical Security and performing the following: 1) Processing SF 86 applications using Navy Background Investigation System, eApp. 2) Conducting physical security surveys and administration of key and lock programs. 3) Utilizing security related computer programs and databases. 4) Overseeing the handling and safeguarding classified information/material. 5) Implementing Industrial Security policies governing contractor personnel. 6) Effectively communicating orally and in writing You may also qualify using education to substitute for specialized experience. You may also qualify using education to substitute for specialized experience if you have the following: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
