Job Duties
As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Large Bank Field Examiner) with emphasis in Bank Information Technology (BIT), you will: Oversee ongoing supervisory efforts for Bank Information activities. Plan, coordinate, and monitor supervisory activities, including identifying and communicating risk issues, developing supervisory strategies and determining the scope of supervisory activities. Provide leadership and training to other examiners and may instruct at formal schools. Manage teams of assisting personnel during bank supervisory activities. Serve as a consultant to employees and managers. Lead in discussions with large bank management on findings and recommendations. Prepare communications to foster positive changes within the bank. Maintain effective communications within the OCC to ensure that appropriate coordination and follow-up activities take place. Prepare reports of activities and develop responses to address risks.
Requirements
This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. File an OCC Financial Disclosure Form. Complete a financial disclosure review and resolve any ethics issues. Qualification
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-IV band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Conducting examinations, audits, or reviews to evaluate a financial institution's bank information technology activities (e.g., development/application of IT controls, data management, network/technology infrastructure, data privacy/governance, information security/cybersecurity systems, third party/vendor management, etc.), assessing compliance with applicable banking laws and regulations; AND Identifying and recommending corrective actions. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Additional Information regarding Large Bank Assignments - Selectees from Large Bank job postings may be assigned to any of the Large Financial Institutions within a Metropolitan work area and should expect work assignments in more than one institution within a Large Bank City: Charlotte, NC includes: USAA, Bank of America, or Wells Fargo East. Charlotte, NC is the preferred location; though, any U.S. location of the OCC will be considered under an alternative work location provided the location is cost effective, operationally efficient, and complies with the standards contained in the Alternative Location Arrangements PPM 3110-53. If in an alternative location, when traveling to Charlotte, NC, you will be expected to be onsite no later than 1:30 pm on the first workday, departing no earlier than noon on the last workday and there should be no travel on Sunday unless there is a business need approved by your authorizing official in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and/or the OCC FTR Supplement. This position is a Step 2 level position within the NB-V pay band.
